You never forget!

I'm hoping that writing a blog will be the same.  

I've missed my blog and the inspiration is gives me to create.  I'm craving a really good crafting day where I get to make something I WANT not something I HAVE to make.  Know what I mean?  

(Not that I'm complaining about sewing purses, I do love it and appreciate my customers and their orders.... I just don't get my creative ON!)

So.... I'm gonna just jump right back into the water here on my beloved and extremely missed bloggy-poo and do what makes me happy.

The Bug

The months of March and April were pretty rough for my family.  My poor Mama had another spell in the hospital with her heart and breathing issues and from there.... it all went downhill.  My Dad got sick with a stomach 'thing' that sent him to the hosptial then my Amelia-Claire got it and ended up here:

Her Daddy says it was from wearing her Justin Bieber shirt.... she didn't agree.

Then.... everyone else got it.  My Mom ended up going back for two days because of it and my poor Angel of Husband got it and still has it.  Poor guy... he's not used to being sick.

(It's actuallykinda funny........ he thinks he can beat it with his own man-made-thought-up home remedies.  Tee and Hee!)

Bascially what all of this means on the sewing/crafting homefront is that

THERE IS NO SEWING AND CRAFTING ON THE HOMEFRONT!

I do however have a ton of purses screaming at me from my "book-0-orders" and I'm trying my best to get to them and satisfy my awesome customers.  It's happening, slowly but surely.  I also have a good amount of other neat stuff to blog about but can't seem to find 'ye old son's camera that I have to borrow since mine brokeded' to be able to show you with pictures AND words.  

Oh... Saint Anthony I need you!!

 

New....

It's been forever since I've posted.... yet again I fail.

On a brighter note.... I've made some new purses using Joel Dewberry's new Aviary 2 line and also Ty Pennington's new Impressions line.... and I'm loving the doo out of them!  

Seriously.... the doo!

I've basically been sewing, sewing and sewing tons of purse orders.  Thank Goodness!  Since Darren's job was reduced to part-time... I'm broke.  Seriously.  So, thank you to all of my fabulous customers!  Be sure to go on Facebook and LIKE Plumtickled... Emotional breakdown beginnings

This boy Cole.... he's going to be leaving me soon.

Stupid college!

He was just this little guy a day or so ago... I promise.

And a day or so before this he was just this little guy.

 

I think about it every single day.  It can't be good for my circulatory system, can it? 

I need to go bake something.

 

 

 

Getting my blogging legs again

I'm back.  I finally updated my credit card information.... I'm so lazy.

I'm busy sewing the crud out of purses but will be back soon to show you everything I've been up to.... and stuff I have planned to complete before Santa comes our way. More like things I'll be staying up late doing because I wait till the last second.  

I'm like that.

Wasn't sure if you knew that.

Dear Butt...

I made you something.

 

As a "thank you" for the pain you endured the other day, when I sat you down on the hot, hot seat........ I made you a little quilt. 

Trust me.... when you hurt, I hurt.

Just please share with the thighs.  Between me and you.... they stick to the seat when I wear shorts or a dress and it feels like I've left half of them on the seat after I peel them off.

*P.S:  This fabric was 'Bliss' from Moda.  I used a pack of pre-cut squares to make this.  Five down and five across.... cotton batting between..... stiched the ditches....... then backed and a just a bit of a binding to hold it all together.  Ended up being around 22" X 22" when finished.

*PPS: I was going to make ties but figured they would just tear eventually.  I figured that by the sheer force of my rump.... this thing is not going anywhere!

*PPS AGAIN:  Please... make a ton!  I'm just sharing..... our butts need to stick together, just not to seats!! lol!

Can't do without-ums

Whenever I sew, I use this here pincusion that I made years ago:

 

I don't know about how organized ya'll are but for me.... I don't know the first thing about it....  either that, or I can't be bothered.  I'm really, really good at putting things down and not remembering where I put them or sitting down at the machine and not bringing my pincushion back with me from say.... the ironing board or even the kitchen for that matter.  With this baby attached to my wrist..... my pincushion is ALWAYS with me.  I think I've even cooked supper wearing it!

It's simply a really big stuffed yo-yo that I made from a vintage pillowcase.  To be honest, it's was the second one I made being that I didn't add a "safety-round-of-carboard" to the first one I made.  I learned that  in order to keep the pins from coming through the other side and poking me..... I needed to add that bit of protection.  (I learned the hard way!)  I wanted to cover the elastic band but was too lazy to stop and think it through.... as I am with lots of stuff I make.  But, I can testify that it wasn't necessary as I use it almost daily and love it. 

In fact, It's an "I can't live without-um" ..... which is something I call a useful tool that I find I just can't sew without.  I'll talk a bit about the others I use in the next few days.  I just happended to have this goody on my wrist this evening while making purses and snapped a quick photo of it.

Yes... this is the baby I was just pregnant with not long ago.  Crazy to think she'll be two in a couple of months, isn't it?
